WWE’s Reaction to Will Ospreay’s Warning

Will Ospreay made it clear how he felt after AEW All Out, telling WWE and anyone else thinking about running against AEW to “never step to us again.” If a new WrestleVotes report is accurate, WWE’s reported reaction was quite different from what Ospreay may have expected.

During a recent WrestleVotes Q&A, the outlet was asked about WWE’s internal reaction to Ospreay’s post-All Out comments. According to WrestleVotes, WWE has no plans to back away from head-to-head events. In fact, the company could be looking at doing more of them in the future.

“They’re gonna step again. This is only beginning.”

WrestleVotes also raised another possible scenario that could put WWE and AEW programming against each other again.

“Are they going to add a Worlds Collide in the Greater Phoenix Arena on the night of Full Gear? Could be.”

According to the report, Ospreay’s warning did not discourage WWE from continuing with its strategy. Instead, the reported response is that the company intends to keep moving forward with head-to-head programming.

“This isn’t stopping. So their reaction to Will Ospreay saying, ‘Never step up to us again,’ their reaction is, ‘Well, we’re going to, time and time again.’”

WWE and AEW Could Continue Going Head-to-Head

Ospreay made his warning after defeating Jon Moxley to retain the AEW World Championship at All Out. He addressed the live crowd following the pay-per-view and later spoke during the post-show media scrum.

Ospreay praised the fans who chose to attend AEW rather than the competing Worlds Collide event. He then warned anyone attempting to go head-to-head with AEW, saying they would be knocked “two f**king levels” down.

The comments came amid another instance of WWE and AEW holding major events in competition with each other.

As expected, WWE is not viewing Ospreay’s remarks as a reason to avoid future scheduling conflicts. Instead, the company is reportedly prepared to continue holding events opposite AEW when it believes doing so makes sense.
