WWE Reportedly Preparing “Categorically Different” Creative Plans For Jordynne Grace Return

WWE Reportedly Preparing "Categorically Different" Creative Plans For Jordynne Grace Return

WWE star Jordynne Grace may soon be making her long-awaited return to television, with reports hinting at a major shift in her creative direction.

Appearing on the September 8 Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed Grace’s extended absence from Friday Night SmackDown. While confirming she is currently healthy and at home, Sapp revealed that internal discussions point toward a fresh concept for her comeback.

“Categorically Different” Creative Teased

According to Sapp, WWE creative is working on something unexpected for the former TNA Knockouts World Champion:

“At home. I’d heard they might have something coming up soon. Something categorically different.”

Sapp also noted meeting Grace at a recent Pixel Flow event, where she kept details regarding her return strictly under wraps:

“I saw her at the Pixel Flow event a few weeks ago and she wouldn’t spill the beans. She’s too well behaved for that, man.”

“But I think they could be bringing her back soon. I think so.”

Numbers Game & Roster Delays

Grace’s lack of television time follows a frustrating period on the SmackDown brand. An ankle injury previously scrapped plans for a WrestleMania 42 Women’s United States Championship Triple Threat match alongside Giulia and Tiffany Stratton.

Following her medical clearance, Grace struggled to secure storyline placement. Reports from WrestleVotes noted she fell victim to a “numbers game” when SmackDown reverted to a two-hour broadcast format, drastically reducing available time for the women’s division alongside top-tier male stars like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton.

Despite traveling to television tapings and occasionally working matches for Main Event, Grace has remained largely off main roster programming. Sapp’s teaser suggests her extended absence may finally pay off with a redefined television persona.
