Bronson Reed Explains Why Weight Loss Makes His Tsunami Finisher Deadlier

WWE Superstar Bronson Reed has fired back at critics who believe his dramatic physical transformation will lessen the impact of his signature top-rope finisher, the Tsunami.

Reed made his return to television at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6, intervening in Bron Breakker’s bout against Oba Femi. Reed launched a brutal attack on Femi to trigger a disqualification before officially reuniting with Breakker and The Vision.

Accelerating The Impact

Appearing on RAW Recap following the September 7 episode of WWE RAW, the powerhouse addressed online chatter questioning whether losing weight takes away from the move’s crushing force.

“I see this a lot online as well. People saying it’s not gonna be as impactful, but they’re completely wrong,” Reed said. “I understand that the mass of what I was, landing on someone from 10 feet in the air, of course that’s gonna hurt anyone. Of course it’s gonna keep them down.”

Reed explained that shedding weight actually enhances his explosiveness off the top turnbuckle, allowing him to generate even greater velocity upon impact:

“But now I can accelerate it even more because I am lighter. I can jump higher, I can jump further, and I come down with even more force because I can pretty much propel myself better.”

Unbroken Finish Record

Beyond the physical mechanics, Reed touted the protected status of the move across his entire WWE tenure, claiming no competitor has ever kicked out of it.

“So, the Tsunami actually is maybe the only finisher right now I know in WWE that has never been kicked out of. Since its inception in 2019 in NXT, no man has kicked out of the Tsunami, and I plan on keeping it that way.”
