A star-studded collection of wrestling legends, cross-promotional talent, and close friends gathered backstage at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia, for Wednesday night’s emotional AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite.
The broadcast was specially branded to honor Tanea “Rebel” Brooks, who previously starred in AEW as Rebel and “Reba” alongside Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Brooks announced her terminal ALS diagnosis earlier this year, prompting a massive turnout from across the professional wrestling community to support her and raise funds for ALS research through AEWTogether.org/RebelHeart and IAmALS.org.
Cross-Promotional Support & Familiar Faces
The backstage area saw an impressive gathering of names from across MLW, TNA, and independent wrestling who traveled to Georgia specifically to be with Brooks:
- Killer Kross & Scarlett Bordeaux: The reigning MLW World Champion and his wife were in attendance to show their support.
- TNA Legends & Alumni: TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim and Christy Hemme were present, honoring their long-standing history with Brooks.
- Independent & Former Talent: Former AEW broadcast team member Dasha Gonzalez, alongside veteran tag team partners Marti Belle and Allysin Kay, joined a large contingent of Brooks’ family members.
Following the broadcast, Belle and Kay took to social media to share a heartfelt photo alongside Brooks, reflecting the overwhelming love and unity present throughout the evening.
