Current AEW Deals Could Be Final Contract for The Young Bucks

Future retirement plans could be on the horizon for Executive Vice Presidents and multi-time World Tag Team Champions Matt and Nick Jackson.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed internal discussions suggesting that The Young Bucks’ current AEW contracts might serve as their last in professional wrestling. Meltzer emphasized that both brothers are financially secure, with Matt Jackson—now in his 40s—having previously weighed the idea of hanging up his boots.

“Aside from Page, I’m not sure how much longer any of them are gonna go, because Matt considered stopping,” Meltzer stated. “Matt’s in his 40s, and they’re set. All of them, they’re all set for life. They’ve made a lot of money.”

Lucrative Offers Could Influence Final Decision

While Kenny Omega’s in-ring career will likely continue as long as his physical health permits, and “Hangman” Adam Page remains considerably younger, the future of Jackson brothers remains far more fluid.

However, Meltzer cautioned that pro wrestling retirements are rarely set in stone, particularly when substantial money comes into play upon contract expiration.

“I’ve heard it discussed that this might be their last contract,” Meltzer explained. “You know, people always say that and then there’s so much money thrown at you afterwards to stay, so you always do. But, like I said, we’ll see what happens when the deal’s up. I mean, Adam Page will probably still wrestle for many more years.”

For now, The Young Bucks remain locked into AEW’s main event scene. Matt and Nick Jackson are set to challenge Adam Copeland and Christian Cage for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW All In: London on August 30 at Wembley Stadium.
