The Undertaker is backing Oba Femi to defeat Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam, but he isn’t doing it blindly. On the newest episode of Six Feet Under, the WWE Hall of Famer answered fan questions and explained why he believes Femi is positioned to win — while also stressing the danger that comes with facing Lesnar.
He admitted part of his pick comes from personal history.
“You know, I think selfishly, I want to see Oba take Brock out in Hell in a Cell. Me personally, I didn’t have that great a record against Brock in Hell in a Cell, but man, that’s one of those super fight things. That’s one of those fights. Like, man, I want to see what’s going to happen here.”
The Undertaker said Femi’s rise has created a rare moment where everything seems aligned.
“Oba has this incredible aura right now, and all this momentum. He’s new to the scene, and he has all that energy behind him from the fans. I think the table is set for him to be a huge superstar. It’s just going to be a matter of channeling his and keeping his focus on the big prize.”
Then he shifted to a warning. He said Femi cannot let the spectacle swallow the match.
“I just hope that he doesn’t get too distracted by the entrance and the walk and all that. All that’s great, and you know he gets an incredible reaction. But again, to have long term success, you’ve got to be able to deliver night in and night out in the ring.”
He added that Femi’s potential is enormous, but the opponent across the ring remains a problem.
“I think he’s one of those guys that the sky’s the limit, and I’m anxious to see how far he takes this. But I hope that doesn’t distract him from what’ll be standing across the ring from him.”
On Lesnar, The Undertaker said nothing has changed — even with age.
“Even in the later part now of Brock’s career, he’s still obviously one of the most dangerous guys to be in the ring with. And not only that, he’s going to be in his hometown, which I think is going to give him a little extra pep in his step.”
He talked through the match dynamics before making his final call.
“Oh man, I tell you what, that’s a coin toss. Oba at Mania manhandles Brock. Brock comes back. I think Oba will do better the shorter the match goes. I think if it gets into the later 15, 20, 25 minute mark, Brock’s experience, yeah, I think Brock’s experience probably will serve him well here. Flip of the coin, I’m going to go with the momentum. I say Oba wins in a Hell in a Cell classic.”
Undertaker Oba Femi Brock Lesnar pick
Lesnar and Femi are tied 1–1 in their previous meetings at WrestleMania 42 and Clash in Italy. Femi earned a world title shot by winning the King of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions, but he rejected it to chase Lesnar instead.
SummerSlam takes place Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
