Otis Written Off RAW After Brutal Austin Theory Attack

Otis has been ruled out indefinitely following a violent assault by Austin Theory on the July 27 episode of RAW. WWE confirmed the update later in the broadcast, marking a major turning point for both Alpha Academy and The Vision as SummerSlam gets closer. The announcement came after a chaotic post‑match scene that left one fan favorite sidelined and his allies scrambling for answers.

The attack happened after The Vision’s Austin Theory and Bron Breakker defeated Akira Tozawa and Otis in tag team action. Even after the loss, Otis rushed back into the fight when Theory and Breakker tried to continue their beating on Tozawa. For a moment, Otis cleared the ring and looked ready to swing the momentum back toward Alpha Academy. That changed when Maxxine Dupri stepped onto the apron. Her distraction gave Theory and Breakker the opening they needed.

They dropped Otis with a double powerbomb. Theory then took things even further. He grabbed a steel chair, ignored the referee, and smashed it into Otis’ head against the ring post. Otis collapsed and did not move. The segment ended with officials rushing in as Theory and Breakker walked away.

WWE confirms Otis is out indefinitely

Later in the show, Byron Saxton reported that Otis had been sidelined indefinitely. WWE also moved him to the injured list as part of the storyline. The update raises the stakes for The Vision heading into SummerSlam. It also leaves Akira Tozawa alone as the last active member of Alpha Academy, forcing him to carry the group’s banner if he wants revenge.

Maxxine Dupri’s betrayal played a direct role in Otis being blindsided. Her involvement adds another layer to the story and deepens the divide between her and her former partners. Whether Otis eventually returns for payback remains unknown. For now, Theory and Breakker have left a painful mark that will shape the next chapter of RAW.
