WWE SmackDown Preview – June 19, 2026

Cody Rhodes puts the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line as he defends against GUNTHER, with Sami Zayn serving as the special guest referee in a match that will run with no commercial breaks. The friendship between Rhodes and Zayn has become strained after several verbal confrontations and misunderstandings. Meanwhile, GUNTHER has been pushing for another title shot. He previously failed to beat Rhodes at WWE Clash in Italy on May 31, and the finish caused controversy when the referee missed GUNTHER’s foot under the bottom rope.

Damian Priest and R‑Truth defend the WWE Tag Team Championship for the first time since beating Nathan Frazer and Axiom on the May 1 episode of SmackDown. They face Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga of MFT. After Talla defeated Royce Keys on the June 5 SmackDown, MFT continued to attack Keys until Truth ran out to help him. Priest followed Truth to the ring, but instead of joining the fight, he pulled Truth aside to question why he stepped in for Keys. Their tension now carries into tonight’s title match.

Trick Williams finds out his next challenger for the United States Championship as Ricky Saints meets Carmelo Hayes in a Number One Contender’s Match. Both men have made it clear that they want the title. They faced each other on the June 5 SmackDown, where Saints scored the win over Hayes. Tonight’s match decides who moves on to challenge Williams.

Two semifinals matches in the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring Tournament also take place tonight. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan faces Charlotte Flair in the Queen of the Ring semifinals. Jey Uso of The Bloodline goes one‑on‑one with Je’Von Evans in the King of the Ring semifinals. The winner of the Queen of the Ring match meets IYO SKY in the finals at WWE Night of Champions on June 27. The winner of the King of the Ring match faces Oba Femi that same night.
