Cyndi Lauper WWE Hall of Fame Induction Gains Momentum

Cyndi Lauper may finally be closer to receiving a long-awaited WWE Hall of Fame induction, as her relationship with the company appears to be improving.

The two-time Grammy Award winner played a key role in WWE’s expansion during the 1980s but has yet to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Despite years of fan demand, her name has consistently been overlooked. That situation could now be changing. According to WrestleVotes Radio, the connection between Lauper and WWE has strengthened, making a future induction more likely.

Strengthened Relationship and New Licensing Deal

While the outlook has improved, there are still limitations. The report indicates that an induction is not expected to happen as soon as 2027. At present, the relationship between Lauper and WWE is centered on licensing agreements, although there are plans to expand that partnership over time.

This renewed connection was recently highlighted through a new merchandise release. Mattel Creations announced a WWE Elite 3-Pack as part of the San Diego Comic-Con 2026 exclusives. The set features Lauper alongside “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Captain Lou Albano, recreating the iconic Piper’s Pit segment that helped launch the Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Connection. The set is priced at $80 and will debut at SDCC before becoming available online on July 23.

Lauper’s influence on WWE’s rise in popularity cannot be understated. Her collaboration with Albano, who portrayed her father in the “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” music video, helped bridge the gap between mainstream music and professional wrestling. That crossover appeal played a major role in expanding WWE’s audience during a critical period.

She also had an on-screen presence in WWE, managing Wendi Richter to the Women’s Championship at the first WrestleMania in 1985. Lauper later made a return appearance on RAW in 2012 but has not been involved with the company in recent years.

With renewed business ties now in place, momentum appears to be building for Lauper’s eventual Hall of Fame induction, even if it may still take time before it becomes official.
