TNA Wrestling is reportedly close to finalizing a new developmental partnership with Ohio Valley Wrestling, signaling a potential shift in how the company builds future talent.
According to a report from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, TNA and OVW are actively working toward an agreement that would position the Louisville-based promotion as a developmental system for TNA. The deal is said to be nearing completion, with both sides expected to formalize the arrangement in the near future.
There have already been visible signs of a stronger relationship between the two organizations. TNA President Carlos Silva has reportedly attended several recent OVW events, indicating growing collaboration. OVW also recently marked a major milestone, celebrating its 1,400th consecutive episode of television, underscoring its longevity in the wrestling industry.
This would not be the first time TNA and OVW have worked together in this capacity. The two promotions previously entered a developmental partnership from 2011 to 2013, which ultimately ended due to financial disagreements. They later reconnected in 2019 with another developmental arrangement, showing a history of on-and-off collaboration.
OVW’s reputation as a training ground is well established. The promotion famously served as WWE’s developmental territory from 1999 to 2008, producing several future main event stars. Among the most notable names to emerge from OVW during that period are John Cena, Batista, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and Shelton Benjamin.
In 2018, Al Snow purchased OVW, taking a hands-on role in shaping its future. The company saw another significant change in 2025 when Morley Sports Management acquired a majority stake. Despite the ownership shift, Snow has remained involved, continuing to oversee the OVW training academy and its television production.
If finalized, this new agreement could provide TNA with a structured pipeline for developing new talent while giving OVW increased visibility and resources. With both companies having worked together in the past, the potential partnership appears to be a natural step forward as TNA continues to evolve its roster strategy.
