The company recently confirmed a series of changes described internally as a “workforce reduction” ahead of Slammiversary 2026. Several notable names exited during this period, drawing widespread coverage across wrestling media outlets. Among them was Tommy Dreamer, who had been contributing both on-screen and behind the scenes in a creative capacity. Sami Callihan was also released after reportedly anticipating a creative role within the promotion.
Other high-profile departures included former TNA World Champion Tessa Blanchard, who requested her release, as well as Steve Maclin. Myla Grace exited after a brief run, while backstage changes saw digital producer Luke Paron among those leaving the company.
AJ Francis Responds to Media Focus
Following confirmation that Allie had signed with TNA, Francis took to social media to highlight what he sees as uneven reporting. He pointed out that stories involving releases and exits tend to receive significant attention, while positive developments are often underreported.
“Make sure yall report this and Tasha re-signing as loudly and proudly as yall report people being granted their release that they asked for,” Francis wrote.
His comments also referenced the re-signing of Tasha Steelz, which he views as another example of TNA retaining key talent during a transitional period.
Francis did not argue against coverage of the departures themselves. Instead, he emphasized that positive updates, such as new signings and contract renewals, should receive equal visibility. From his perspective, moves involving Allie and Steelz demonstrate that TNA continues to build and maintain its roster despite recent exits.
At the same time, the level of attention given to the departures is not unexpected. Many of the names involved carried significant recognition, which naturally drove interest and discussion across wrestling media platforms. Still, Francis’ remarks underline an ongoing debate about how wrestling news is presented and which stories receive the most focus.
