Backstage News on WrestleMania 42 Card

WWE is currently planning for a 14-match card across both nights of WrestleMania 42, with multiple additions still expected to be officially confirmed in the coming weeks.

12 matches have already been announced, but at least two more are set to be added, According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select. One of the expected additions is a six-man tag team match featuring IShowSpeed teaming with World Tag Team Champions Logan Paul and Austin Theory of The Vision. They are expected to face The Usos and LA Knight.

The match has been building since Speed accidentally knocked out Knight with brass knuckles during The Vision’s title victory on RAW at Madison Square Garden. Following that moment, Paul Heyman promised that The Vision would stand behind Speed, setting the stage for the ongoing rivalry.

The Intercontinental Championship ladder match is also continuing to take shape. Penta is set to defend against a growing field that currently includes Je’Von Evans, Rusev, Dragon Lee, and JD McDonagh. Additional names from AAA and the SmackDown roster are still being considered for inclusion.

Meanwhile, Carmelo Hayes has not been factored into the current WrestleMania plans. The report notes that WWE is aware of fan criticism regarding his absence, especially following his United States Championship run and his split from Trick Williams. That storyline instead led to Sami Zayn challenging Williams for the title.

As always, plans remain subject to change as WWE finalizes the card.
