Penta Reveals He's Currently Wrestling With a Torn Bicep

On the March 2 episode of WWE RAW in Indianapolis, Penta defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the Intercontinental Championship, despite dealing with a torn bicep.

Shortly after his first title victory in WWE, Penta appeared on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast and reflected on the emotional significance of the achievement and the long road that led to the championship.

Penta described the moment as overwhelming and spoke about the sacrifices he made over the last 20 years to reach this point.

“Man, the first thing was crazy. But at the same time, I feel like the emotion fixes it because it’s so very special for me, but the most important thing, I want to say thank you,” Penta said. “Thank you to my family, thank you to my friends, thank you to my company and thank you to everyone who believed in me because this is very important, and thank you to myself, because I believe in me every single day to achieve this title. It’s like 20 years, the hard work, 20 years of the sacrifice. But, now, this title represent all these people who never give up because Penta represent all those people. Penta represent the dreamers, Penta represent the fighters so they’re real life.”

The new champion also revealed that he has been competing despite dealing with a serious injury. During the interview, Penta confirmed that he is currently wrestling with a torn bicep, an issue that traces back several years.

According to Penta, the injury began after a kick to his chest during a match caused significant damage to the tendon connecting his shoulder to his bicep. The injury later contributed to the shoulder problem that sidelined him briefly in late 2025.

“This injury was like, maybe, I don’t remember exactly. Four, five years ago? Something like that. I don’t remember who gave me a kick. One kick in my chest but, basically, he broke my tendon, from the shoulder to the bicep, and bro, it’s so hard… and this is the shoulder for the last injury. You remember that? A couple months ago,” Penta explained.

Despite the pain, Penta made it clear that winning the championship outweighs any physical setbacks he may be dealing with.

“Now, no matter. I’m f**king glad. Because the gold is on my shoulder brother. The gold is in Mexico right now. No matter what happen with my body, I don’t care. This is the most important.”

He ended the conversation by emphasizing that the championship represents more than just a personal accomplishment.

“I think this is the most important thing because this title is not just for Penta. It’s for all those people.”

At this time, Penta has no plans to step away from the ring to address the bicep injury and is expected to continue competing as Intercontinental Champion while preparing for his first televised title defenses following his win on WWE RAW.
