Penta Returns on WWE RAW, Helps Rey Mysterio – During the second hour of 12/29 WWE RAW, Austin Theory returned to singles competition as he went one-on-one with Rey Mysterio following his earlier appearance in the opening segment of the show. The bout showcased Theory’s physical approach and further advanced the ongoing storyline involving The Vision, while also delivering a surprise return that drew a strong reaction from the Orlando crowd.
Theory controlled much of the early portion of the match by using his size and strength advantage over Mysterio. He repeatedly targeted Mysterio’s back and sternum, cutting off the veteran’s speed and limiting his aerial offense. Theory kept the pace grounded, wearing Mysterio down with power-based offense as the match progressed.
Mysterio eventually mounted a comeback, using his quickness and experience to turn the tide. He countered a torture rack attempt into a tornado DDT, creating separation and shifting momentum. Moments later, Mysterio connected with the 619, putting Theory in a vulnerable position and setting up what appeared to be a potential finishing sequence.
Before the match could reach a decisive conclusion, Logan Paul stormed the ring and attacked Mysterio, prompting the referee to call for the bell and award the match to Mysterio via disqualification. Following the ruling, Paul and Theory continued their assault, beating down Mysterio and leaving him outnumbered in the ring.
The segment took a dramatic turn when Penta made his surprise return, drawing an immediate and loud reaction from the audience. Penta rushed the ring and helped Mysterio fight off Paul and Theory, clearing the ring of The Vision. The moment ended with Penta and Mysterio standing tall as the crowd celebrated the unexpected comeback.
This marked Penta’s first appearance on WWE RAW since the November 24 episode, where he suffered a shoulder injury during a match against Solo Sikoa as part of the Last Time Is Now tournament. His return adds a new layer to the developing storyline and positions him back into the mix on RAW moving forward.
