Roman Reigns Roasts Brock Lesnar Over Royal Rumble Announcement – Roman Reigns had plenty to say about Brock Lesnar’s unconventional announcement for the 2026 Royal Rumble, and he did not hold back.

Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on January 30, 2026, the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion took aim at how Lesnar revealed his entry into the Royal Rumble, mocking the Beast Incarnate for casually declaring himself in the match via FaceTime rather than appearing in person.

Reigns focused first on the surprise of simply seeing Lesnar use modern technology. According to Reigns, that alone was enough to catch his attention and raise questions about how authentic the moment felt.

“I’m still caught up on the fact that Brock Lesnar knew how to work FaceTime. I thought he’d be like—[imitates an ape pushing on a phone]—you know what I mean? That’s what’s tripping me out.”

The comments drew laughter, but Reigns continued by leaning into Lesnar’s reputation as one of WWE’s most private and isolated figures. Known for his off-the-grid lifestyle, Lesnar rarely appears outside major events, which made the FaceTime reveal stand out even more.

“I didn’t even know he had a phone. I thought he was old school, like you had to call the farm, then the farmhand would come get him, then he’d go to the lead farm guy—you know what I mean? So I’m surprised he even knows how to work a phone.”

Reigns’ remarks added to a growing list of jabs aimed at Lesnar following his announcement. Earlier in the week, Seth Rollins also poked fun at Lesnar during an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, suggesting that Brock simply did not want to show up in person and instead chose to call his way into the match.

Despite the jokes, Lesnar’s Royal Rumble entry remains one of the most significant developments heading into the event. Whether his announcement style is viewed as casual or calculated, the reality is that Lesnar will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and his presence immediately changes the dynamic of the men’s Royal Rumble match.

With Roman Reigns also confirmed for the Rumble, the verbal shots only add to the intrigue. Both men are former world champions with a long and physical history, and their paths crossing again in the Royal Rumble would not be unexpected. While Reigns may not be impressed with how Lesnar announced his return, there is little doubt that he, along with the rest of the field, is fully aware of the danger Lesnar brings once the bell rings.
