Booker T Shares Honest Reaction To TNA Wrestling’s AMC Debut – Booker T has weighed in on TNA Wrestling’s debut episode on AMC, offering a candid assessment that echoed many of the concerns voiced by fans following the premiere. While the move back to weekly cable television was seen as a major step for the company, the presentation of the first episode drew mixed reactions, particularly regarding production choices and pacing.

Speaking about the broadcast, Booker T said he largely agreed with the criticism circulating online. “I got the same sentiment as a lot of other people,” Booker T explained. “As far as it could have been shot a little bit differently, as far as I don’t know if some of the shots were, you know, done earlier in the day, when, you know, this is a big night. It was a lot of commercials, three matches, you know. So it definitely, I don’t know, it seemed like, kind of like an infomercial, a little bit, you know, for, you know, the new spot on AMC, which I understand that as well.”

Booker also addressed circumstances that were outside of TNA’s control, noting that visa issues prevented certain talents from appearing on the show. “Couple of guys had visa issues, like Leon Slater, nothing you could do about that,” he said. “Those issues can happen, and you think you can fix them, and you know you just can’t, and time runs out.” His comments acknowledged that while these absences hurt the card, they were not the result of poor planning or execution.

Where Booker T felt the company could improve most was in the overall direction of the broadcast. He emphasized that directing is a crucial element of any wrestling show and that responsibility ultimately falls on one person. “But directing is something that I think a wrestling show needs, and that director has to be the guy that’s accountable for a lot of stuff that goes on on that show, literally,” Booker said. “Because that part of the show, right there, only one person is going to be in charge of that job, you know, trying to put all that together, and then quarterback in that thing.”

He concluded by suggesting that a lack of clear leadership behind the scenes may have been the missing ingredient. “Yeah, it’s not an easy job,” Booker added. “So I don’t know who’s the quarterback for that show, but that might have been the missing piece.”

As TNA continues its run on AMC, Booker T’s remarks reflect a belief that the foundation is there, but sharper direction and cleaner presentation will be key if the promotion hopes to win over viewers week after week.
