TNA President Comments on Joe Hendry’s Status as WWE Move Nears – TNA President Carlos Silva recently addressed the growing speculation surrounding Joe Hendry’s future during an appearance on the Battleground Podcast. Reports surfaced last month suggesting that Hendry is being phased out of TNA programming as part of a transition toward a full-time WWE role, with expectations that he will officially make the move by early 2026.
At present, Hendry remains under TNA contract and has continued competing in the company, most recently defeating Eric Young at Victory Road. At the same time, he has also been active in WWE, appearing regularly on NXT programming thanks to the ongoing partnership between the two promotions.
When asked directly about Hendry’s current status, Silva confirmed that the Scottish star is still officially part of the TNA roster. “That’s correct,” Silva said. “Yes, he is. You know, he is until he’s not. But he is. And Joe’s been great. Joe’s been great for us. Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to sort of work through that as good partners do.” His comments did not rule out Hendry’s eventual departure but made clear that, for now, he remains with TNA.
Hendry, a former TNA World Champion, has become one of the most prominent crossover stars of the WWE-TNA collaboration. He competed at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania earlier this year and continues to make appearances for NXT, including a scheduled live event in Florida this weekend.
Looking ahead, Hendry’s role will again draw attention on next week’s NXT special, billed as an NXT vs. TNA Showdown. Within the storyline, questions about his loyalty have been raised, and Mike Santana notably left him off Team TNA for the event.
Beyond the storyline drama, Hendry brings a unique background to both companies. The 37-year-old hails from Scotland and is known for his blend of amateur wrestling skill and musical performances, making him one of the most distinctive personalities in wrestling today.
