WWE Officials Impressed With Ludwig Kaiser as El Grande Americano – Earlier this June, WWE has made an unexpected adjustment to the El Grande Americano character following Chad Gable’s recent injury. With Gable sidelined, Ludwig Kaiser has been filling the role on television, handling both in-ring action and character segments under the mask.
According to a new report from BodySlam.net, Kaiser’s work as El Grande Americano has received strong praise from WWE officials. Some within the company reportedly believe his performances have been so effective that he could eventually surpass Gable in the role. Despite the positive reception, there are no current plans to make Kaiser the permanent El Grande Americano moving forward.
Kaiser has been spotlighted in recent weeks, even defending the El Grande Americano persona in high-profile matches. As the masked star, he currently holds the WWE Speed Championship and recently crossed over to AAA, where he challenged for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania XXXIII.
The character of El Grande Americano was first introduced in February of this year, with Gable under the mask. The persona quickly gained momentum, culminating in a major win over Rey Fenix at WrestleMania 41 in April. With Gable out of action, Kaiser’s involvement has kept the character active and visible on WWE programming, though the long-term direction remains uncertain until Gable is cleared to return.
