Update on Kofi Kingston After WWE RAW Match Against LA Knight – Following the September 29 episode of WWE RAW, concerns were raised about Kofi Kingston’s condition after he took a hard knee to the head during his match with LA Knight. However, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reports that Kingston is not listed on WWE’s internal injury report, indicating that he avoided any serious harm.
“Kofi got rocked with a knee on RAW, but wasn’t listed on the internal injury report after the show, so apparently he’s OK,” Alvarez wrote, easing fears of a potential setback for the former WWE Champion.
The match between Kingston and Knight was booked earlier in the night after a backstage confrontation. LA Knight approached Adam Pearce to request a World Championship match, noting that he was the last man to pin Seth Rollins. The New Day interrupted, seeking a World Tag Team Title opportunity of their own. Kingston reminded Knight that he was the only one in the conversation with World Title experience. Knight responded by predicting he’d soon be champion and challenged Kingston, prompting Pearce to make the bout official.
Although Kingston came up short against Knight, the New Day have remained a focal point of RAW’s tag team division. In recent weeks, Kingston and Xavier Woods have formed an on-screen alliance with Grayson Waller, who has acted as a third member of sorts. The trio has been featured in comedic backstage skits, including a running gag where they attempt to collect signatures for a petition to ban the Mexican Destroyer, a move Penta El Zero Miedo has repeatedly used to take out all three men.
With Kingston cleared internally, fans can expect The New Day to continue their storyline momentum without interruption.
