Ric Flair Says Randy Orton Is Being Underutilized in WWE – Ric Flair has weighed in on WWE’s current use of Randy Orton, expressing frustration over how “The Viper” has been featured on television. While speaking with eScapist Magazine, the two-time Hall of Famer praised his daughter Charlotte Flair as the best wrestler in the world but also pointed to Orton as one of the greatest in-ring performers today.
“The only person who I think is close to Charlotte, when he is on and healthy, when you think about in-ring timing and knowing where you are all the time, is Randy Orton,” Flair said.
Flair went on to say that he feels WWE is not making the most of Orton’s talent. “Randy’s really underutilized these days. I don’t know why. I think maybe he made somebody mad along the way,” he speculated. “Randy’s not afraid to say what he thinks and that’s not always popular.”
Flair has long been a strong supporter of Orton, dating back to their time together in Evolution. Recently, Orton has been engaged in a feud with Drew McIntyre, teamed up with country star Jelly Roll at SummerSlam, and took part in a WWE Title program against John Cena following WrestleMania. Despite those storylines, Flair believes Orton should be showcased more prominently given his experience, timing, and proven star power.
