Grayson Waller Buries Austin Theory After A-Town Down Under Split – Grayson Waller is making it clear that A-Town Down Under is over, and he has no interest in looking back. The Australian star addressed the end of his tag team with Austin Theory during a recent appearance on WWE’s Raw Recap show, where he took several shots at his former partner while embracing his new alliance with The New Day.
The official on-screen split came on the July 21 episode of RAW, with Waller announcing that Theory was sidelined due to injury. Since then, Waller has aligned himself with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, keeping himself active in storylines while Theory recovers.
On the September 1 Raw Recap, Waller didn’t hold back when asked about Theory. “I’ve got rid of the dead weight of Austin Theory and this is the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I feel so good. I’m in the best shape of my life,” he said. Waller mocked Theory’s intelligence, even joking about seeing him struggle to read The Cat in the Hat on a plane.
He also downplayed Theory’s WrestleMania 39 win over John Cena, claiming it did little for his partner’s career and that he was the one who made Theory relevant. “I watched Theory beat John Cena and no one cared, and I was like, I know how to make an impact on the main roster… I’m gonna save Austin Theory’s career, and that’s exactly what I did,” Waller said. “He’s never been more relevant than when he was with Grayson Waller. We won the World Tag Team Championships. Who pulled ‘em down? I did. He was losing all the matches. I was helping this guy, and where is he now? Who cares?”
Waller added that he feels “set free” without Theory and warned that when Theory eventually returns, they’ll “have words.”
According to Fightful Select, Theory remains on the WWE roster but is currently sidelined with an injury, alongside names like Ilja Dragunov and Zoey Stark. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter further reported that WWE officially ended A-Town Down Under as a way to keep Waller active on television while Theory is out of action.
For now, Waller continues to thrive alongside The New Day, while a future showdown with Theory looms once he’s cleared to return.
