Location for John Cena’s WWE Retirement Match – WWE is reportedly preparing to host John Cena’s retirement match in Washington, D.C. According to WrestleVotes, the Capital One Arena has been selected as the venue for Cena’s final bout, scheduled to take place on Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. While WWE has not yet confirmed the news, this marks a significant update in the company’s rollout of Cena’s farewell tour.
Earlier reports had suggested Boston could be the site of Cena’s retirement, but that has since been ruled out. Instead, Boston’s TD Garden will serve as the stage for Cena’s final appearance in his hometown on the November 10 episode of RAW. One week later, he will wrestle his last match at Madison Square Garden in New York City, capping off his historic run in one of WWE’s most iconic venues.
The Capital One Arena, home to the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals, has long been a staple venue for WWE events. Beyond WWE, it also carries historical significance in wrestling as the site of the very first AEW Dynamite episode in 2019.
Cena’s final opponent has not yet been announced, leaving fans speculating on who will share the ring with him in his retirement match. His schedule leading into the event remains stacked: after defeating Logan Paul at Clash in Paris, Cena is set for a confrontation with Brock Lesnar at WWE WrestlePalooza on September 20. He is also advertised for tonight’s episode of SmackDown in Chicago, which many expect will be his final appearance on the blue brand.
The December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event will stream live on Peacock, where fans will witness Cena’s last chapter in a WWE ring after more than two decades of defining moments and rivalries.
