According to the report, Jericho is under contract with AEW until the end of 2025, meaning he still has several months left before his deal expires. Despite being one of AEW’s most recognizable names, Jericho has not been featured on television since mid-April, when he was written off programming after abruptly abandoning his Learning Tree stablemates, Big Bill and Bryan Keith. The two are no longer listed internally as part of “The Learning Tree” on AEW’s roster.
At this time, there have been no confirmed creative plans for Jericho’s return. The veteran typically handles his booking discussions directly with AEW President Tony Khan, but no movement has been reported.
Speculation about Jericho’s future grew when he “liked” an Instagram post suggesting he should return to WWE. That, paired with chatter about WWE officials discussing the possibility internally, fueled fan buzz. However, Fightful’s latest update clarified the situation. WWE sources indicated Jericho’s name “hasn’t come up whatsoever around the creative process.” While some talent have speculated about a comeback, and one company higher-up acknowledged that Jericho remains on good terms with WWE, another source stressed that it is “far too early to tell” whether any talks will develop.
For now, Jericho remains signed to AEW, and his immediate future with the promotion appears uncertain.
