Tony Nese Working As Agent Behind-The-Scenes In AEW – Tony Nese has been quietly expanding his role within All Elite Wrestling, taking on new responsibilities behind the scenes in addition to his in-ring work.
“The Premier Athlete” has recently been serving as a coach and agent for AEW talent. This role was publicly noted for the first time when he was listed in that capacity for last Saturday’s AEW Collision. Company sources have since confirmed that Nese has been working in this position for some time, although it had not previously been made public.
While still competing, Nese’s in-ring schedule has slowed over the past two years. He has primarily appeared on Ring of Honor programming, often teaming with longtime partner Ariya Daivari. Despite the reduced frequency of matches, his coaching and producing duties suggest a growing influence on AEW’s match structure and talent development.
Nese’s career spans over two decades, with extensive experience on the independent circuit as well as in TNA/Impact Wrestling, WWE, and AEW. His technical style and conditioning expertise have made him a valuable asset to younger wrestlers learning the craft.
As previously reported, Angelico has also taken on producing responsibilities in AEW recently, showing the company’s trend of utilizing experienced in-ring talent in behind-the-scenes roles. This approach allows AEW to benefit from their veteran insight while still featuring them in active competition when needed.
With Nese balancing both performing and coaching, it appears AEW is investing in his long-term contributions to the company, both inside the ring and as a mentor to its roster.
