Lance Anoa’i Dealing with Another Injury Setback – Lance Anoa’i’s WWE career has been hampered by injuries since signing with the company in the summer of 2024. According to Sean Ross Sapp on the Fightful Select Q&A podcast, the 33-year-old star has dealt with multiple setbacks that have kept him from debuting on WWE television.
“He’s had a couple of setbacks. He got injured very early after getting signed last year, and was planned to be sidelined pretty well into 2025,” Sapp explained. “However, based on what we heard, he sustained another injury after that and was still injured this summer. Just very unfortunate luck that has prevented him from appearing.”
The injuries have been a major obstacle for Anoa’i, who had built momentum prior to joining WWE. He spent five years in Major League Wrestling between 2018 and 2023, where he became a key figure in the tag team division. Beyond MLW, he also competed in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, gaining valuable international experience.
Anoa’i comes from one of wrestling’s most legendary families. He is the son of Samu, best known as one half of The Headshrinkers, and a cousin to some of WWE’s biggest names, including Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu. Expectations were high when WWE brought him in, but repeated injuries have stalled his momentum and delayed his progress.
At this time, there is no confirmed timeline for when Anoa’i may finally recover and make his WWE debut. Until then, his situation remains one of frustration and unfortunate timing for a talent with both pedigree and potential.
