Hogan, 71, passed away in Clearwater, Florida, on July 24, with cardiac arrest listed as the official cause of death. No autopsy was initially performed, but his daughter Brooke has publicly pushed for one, citing unanswered questions about her father’s passing.

TMZ now reports that an occupational therapist was present at Hogan’s home when he stopped breathing and told responding officers that Hogan had been the victim of medical malpractice. According to the police report, which is reportedly on “lockdown,” the therapist claimed that Hogan’s phrenic nerve was severed during a recent surgery. It remains unclear whether this was connected to his heart procedure or a neck operation.

Law enforcement sources further indicated that this exchange may have been captured on police body camera footage. TMZ added that officers also discussed the therapist’s claims among themselves, conversations that could also be on video.

Hogan underwent neck surgery in May and suffered complications in the weeks before his death. His wife, Sky Daily, has since confirmed that an autopsy was performed, though results have not been released. She also acknowledged that Hogan’s phrenic nerve had been “compromised” during one of his surgeries.

Family dynamics have added another layer to the situation. Brooke Hogan and her father were estranged, with Brooke previously asking to be removed from his will in 2023. Speaking on Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show, Brooke revealed her concerns about Hogan’s wife Sky Daily’s possible past ties to Scientology and her reluctance to face potential conflicts with the group or with her mother, Linda Hogan, over estate matters.
