Kross Speaks Candidly on WWE Contract Situation – Karrion Kross appeared as a guest on The Ariel Helwani Show and reiterated that his WWE contract expired on August 10 and he has not signed a new deal with the company. He mentioned receiving an offer, which was quickly rescinded after, as Kross says, he asked for more information about how WWE came to the number they did.
“No, I’m not answering questions today as a character,” Kross responded to Helwani when asked if he was “working everyone” with his contract situation.
Kross continued to detail his talks with WWE, noting that he only received a new offer recently.
“I never actually received a contract offer until last week,” he said.
“I got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted some information, some metrics,” he continued.“When I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me I had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were rescinding it. So, the next day we talk, I asked if they have the information, they don’t. And I said I can’t make an informed decision without the information and I’d like to keep the dialogue open.”
Kross confirmed that WWE has rescinded the offer. He also noted that Scarlett was not given an offer. The company representative speaking with Kross said that they would speak with Scarlett only after they’d reached an agreement with him.
Throughout the conversation, Kross expressed he hopes to resume talks with WWE and that he and Scarlett wish to return.
“I’m not trying to turn this into a game. It’s not a game for me, it’s my life. I’m very big on loyalty, but loyalty is a two-way street. I’m very interested in trying to recover what I think is easily recoverable, but it takes two people to come together and talk about it. I’m still here.”
Kross also addressed people believing that the situation is a work, saying that promotions haven’t reached out to them because they aren’t sure if he really is a free agent.
“People don’t want to reach out because they’re not sure if they’re tampering and stuff like that. The goal has always been to be with WWE. My wife and I still want to be with WWE. I’m still at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation.”
When asked, Kross confirmed that he has not been contacted by AEW. Although he did say he’s spoken with other promotions.
Kross also addressed people not believing he’s really no longer with WWE, saying it’s because the situation doesn’t seem to make sense.
“This seems so nonsensical to people. Believe me, I also think that this makes no sense. This is baffling to me, too. It drives me nuts that I have to actually even admit that. I’m still waiting. I’m waiting at the table to finish discussing the things that we never got a chance to discuss. I think there’s still a lot to talk about. I would like to explore the conversation more with WWE.”
At the end of the interview, Kross was asked if he had a message to all the fans that have supported him. He responded:
“I cannot thank you enough. There were different periods of my life where i thought for sure sincerely maybe I wouldn’t have made it to even this age, I was pretty troubled. And to find myself waking up with this level of support in all directions from friends, peers, vets, total strangers, it’s unbelievable. And I just want people to know, I’m not playing a game with them, this is real. And I’m here to fight. I’m here to fight to do the right thing, I’m going to fight to show up. And I’ll see you again soon.”
