Keith Lee Cleared For AEW Return – An update has emerged on Keith Lee, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion who has been absent from the ring since December 2023. According to Fightful Select, there are currently no confirmed creative plans in place for his return to television.
Lee, known as “The Limitless One,” has been sidelined due to undisclosed health issues. While speculation has circulated regarding his condition, Lee himself recently reassured fans through social media that he is “quite fine.” He further emphasized that his comeback is not his decision to make, suggesting the matter lies in AEW’s hands rather than his own.
Despite this, the report notes that Lee’s name has occasionally surfaced in backstage creative talks. However, these discussions have not resulted in any solid direction or storyline for his reintroduction to programming.
Lee has made sporadic backstage appearances at AEW events, particularly in his home state of Texas earlier this year, but he has not been actively involved in shows. His most recent match took place at AEW Holiday Bash 2023, where he defeated Brian Cage.
Originally, Lee was scheduled to face his former tag team partner Swerve Strickland in a much-anticipated singles bout at AEW Worlds End 2023. However, due to health concerns, he was pulled from the match. Since then, his absence has left fans uncertain about his long-term status with the company.
At this time, no timetable has been provided for Lee’s potential return, leaving his in-ring future with AEW unclear.
