
8/23 AEW Collision Results – The August 16 edition of AEW Collision featured a stacked night of action with championship implications, returns teased, and storylines advancing toward Forbidden Door.
Hiromu Takahashi and SkyFlight (Scorpio Sky, Dante Martin, and Darius Martin) picked up the opening win over The Don Callis Family’s Hechicero, Josh Alexander, Rocky Romero, and Lance Archer, with Christopher Daniels and Don Callis at ringside. After the match, Kyle Fletcher appeared on the ramp, hinting at his involvement going forward.
A vignette aired building anticipation for the return of HOOK, while Renee Paquette previewed both the TBS Championship Four-Way and the AEW Women’s Title match scheduled for Forbidden Door.
Megan Bayne, accompanied by Penelope Ford, scored a singles victory over Isla Dawn. Later in the show, Willow Nightingale and Queen Aminata teamed up to defeat Skye Blue and Julia Hart, but were attacked afterward by Bayne, Thekla, and Ford. Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander made the save to even the odds.
Backstage, Matt Menard and Daniel Garcia were interviewed, where Garcia promised to be in Nigel McGuinness’s corner as a show of loyalty. In the ring, Zack Sabre Jr. answered Max Caster’s Platinum Max Open Challenge, defeating him before confronting McGuinness face-to-face.
Elsewhere, the Death Riders handed Kris Statlander the $100,000 she had won the previous week against The Young Bucks. Konosuke Takeshita, with Don Callis at his side, earned a hard-fought victory over Tomohiro Ishii. Big Bill, backed by Bryan Keith, defeated Mark Andrews. Gates of Agony (Kaun & Toa Liona), now aligned with Ricochet, beat the Grizzled Young Veterans.
The Bullet Club WAR DOGS cut a vignette targeting The Opps, making their intentions clear with an upcoming challenge.
In the main event, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), with Don Callis and Kazuchika Okada in their corner, defeated Paragon’s Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly. After the bell, Swerve Strickland attempted to make the save but was beaten down by The Elite, closing the broadcast with the group standing tall.
