Keith Lee Says He’s Physically Ready, Return Not Up to Him – Keith Lee has addressed his ongoing absence from AEW programming, stating that while he’s physically ready to return, the decision is entirely in the hands of company management.
Lee has not appeared on AEW television since December 2023, when he was pulled from the Worlds End pay-per-view due to an injury. That injury, as Lee later disclosed, dated back to 2022. Despite having recovered, the powerhouse wrestler remains sidelined with no confirmed timetable for his return.
When a fan reached out to him on X (formerly Twitter) to express well wishes, Lee responded with a message that highlighted the lack of control he has over his current status. “I am quite fine. It is not up to me when it comes to a return. But blessings to you as well.”
Another fan suggested starting a campaign to get Lee back on television. In reply, Lee emphasized that although he’s in good health, the decision remains with AEW officials. “I’ve been good for quite some time, though I do appreciate the concern,” Lee wrote. “But no campaign required. Things happen the way they are suppose to, and eventually, the purpose will show itself.”
It was reported earlier this year that Lee is still under contract with AEW, although his role within the promotion has remained unclear in recent months.
Lee’s last match took place during AEW Collision: Holiday Bash in December 2023, where he scored a victory over Brian Cage. Since then, his absence has raised questions among fans, especially given his statement that he’s ready but simply awaiting the call.
