Trish Stratus Expected to Return Soon – WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is expected to return soon, even though her previously planned comeback segment was pulled from the June 13 episode of SmackDown.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE had scripted an announcement of Stratus’s return into the show, including accompanying graphics, but the segment was removed before airtime. It was originally scheduled to air before John Cena’s second promo of the night.
“We are told the return of Trish Stratus is also right around the corner, as the announcement of her return was planned and scripted into the 6/13 episode of Friday night SmackDown,” the report stated. “According to a source, the announcement of her return and accompanying graphics were set to air prior to John Cena’s second promo of the night.”
Despite the change in plans, WWE reportedly still intends to bring Stratus back to television. The most likely destination for her return is the upcoming Evolution premium live event, which will feature an all-women’s lineup. While the official date for the event has not been confirmed, the creative team appears to be positioning Stratus for a role on the card.
“While this plan was obviously scrapped, we are told the return is still on the books, with Stratus set to be part of the upcoming Evolution PLE, obviously,” the source added.
Stratus last appeared on WWE programming at Elimination Chamber, teaming up with Tiffany Stratton against Nia Jax & Candice LeRae. Her return now seems like a matter of timing rather than doubt.
