Details on Scrapped Plans Following Liv Morgan’s Injury – Liv Morgan’s recent shoulder injury, which now requires surgery, has had a major ripple effect across WWE’s creative plans. According to new backstage reports, Morgan was set to play a central role in multiple marquee storylines throughout the summer, including championship bouts and a long-anticipated match at WWE Evolution.

Before the injury occurred, WWE reportedly had Morgan penciled in to challenge IYO SKY for the Women’s World Championship at this Saturday’s Night of Champions premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That match has now been canceled, and WWE has restructured plans for the title picture.

Morgan was also slated to be a featured name at the upcoming WWE Evolution event on July 13. The original plan would have seen her face WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella in a high-profile singles match. An alternate pitch involved a tag team bout featuring Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez against The Bella Twins — but this option depended on whether Brie Bella reached an agreement with WWE. That match, too, is now off the table.

Additionally, internal sources indicate Morgan was at the heart of a Judgment Day storyline arc that was building toward a mixed tag team match. That match would have pitted Morgan and Dominik Mysterio against Roxanne Perez and Finn Bálor, two stars who have been at odds with the faction in recent weeks.

Morgan sustained the injury during a match with Kairi Sane on RAW and was visibly in pain following a routine bump. Despite finishing the match, it was soon confirmed that she had dislocated her shoulder and would require surgery. The expected recovery time could keep her sidelined for the remainder of 2025.
