World Tag Team Title Match Set for Special Early Start Edition of WWE RAW – The New Day will defend the WWE World Tag Team Championships next week as RAW airs at a special earlier start time.
During a backstage segment on the June 23 episode of RAW, General Manager Adam Pearce officially announced that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will put their titles on the line against The Judgment Day’s Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh. The title defense is scheduled for the Monday, June 30 edition of RAW from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In a rare scheduling change, next week’s RAW will air live beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern Time. This adjustment is due to WWE taping the Friday, July 4th edition of SmackDown immediately after RAW concludes. The move allows WWE to pre-record SmackDown ahead of the U.S. Independence Day holiday.
Kingston and Woods won the World Tag Team Titles earlier this year and have since re-established The New Day as a top force in WWE’s tag team division. Their latest challengers, Bálor and McDonagh, remain dangerous members of The Judgment Day despite recent tension and shifting alliances within the group.
The match adds another high-stakes element to a RAW episode already expected to carry fallout from this weekend’s Night of Champions premium live event in Saudi Arabia. With momentum, pride, and championship gold on the line, the tag title showdown could have significant implications heading into the summer.
As of this writing, this is the only match announced for next week.
