MJF Vs Mark Briscoe Feud Reportedly Pitched by MJF Himself – A new report from Fightful Select reveals that the burgeoning rivalry between MJF and Mark Briscoe was not only approved by AEW management, but actively pitched by MJF himself.
The feud, which erupted on the June 25 episode of AEW Dynamite, is being described as “very important” to the former AEW World Champion, who has reportedly pushed for the storyline behind the scenes.
The first sparks flew following MJF’s post-match beatdown of JetSpeed alongside The Hurt Syndicate. That’s when Briscoe stormed the ring to confront the group, leading to a fiery exchange of verbal jabs that immediately caught the audience’s attention.
MJF, never one to hold back, mocked Briscoe with a blistering personal insult:
“The only reason these people love you is because they all grew up dirt ugly and dirt poor, just like you. You’re nothing but a blue collar b**h.”
Briscoe didn’t hesitate to respond in kind.
“If I was MJF going 30 years with a teeny, tiny, kosher pickle in his pants, I’d hang out with those guys too.”
The “kosher pickle” remark drew massive chants from the live crowd and left MVP visibly rattled as he led The Hurt Syndicate out of the arena.
Fightful’s report emphasizes that MJF has had a strong creative hand in building this feud and believes it showcases a different side of his on-screen persona. Given the highly personal nature of the promos, it’s clear that this rivalry is set to push the boundaries of what’s typically seen in AEW programming.
Briscoe’s unique charisma and no-nonsense delivery are expected to make him a formidable foil to MJF’s brash, calculated style. With both men embracing the feud at a personal level, this could become one of AEW’s most emotionally charged storylines of the summer.
No match has officially been announced yet, but given the intensity of their first encounter, a clash at AEW All In: Texas on July 12 could be in the works.
