WWE Waives Arena Clause to Help TNA Promote Bound for Glory – The working relationship between WWE and TNA Wrestling appears to be stronger than ever, with a new report revealing that WWE recently made a rare and significant concession to benefit its partner promotion.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE waived its usual arena exclusivity clause to allow TNA to begin promoting and selling tickets for its upcoming Bound for Glory pay-per-view event. The show is set for October 12 at the Paul Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts, even though WWE already has an event scheduled at the same venue on August 24.
Typically, WWE includes a clause in its arena agreements that prevents venues from advertising or selling tickets for other wrestling promotions until after WWE’s event has taken place. This clause is widely enforced and was reportedly the reason AEW had to wait to announce its show at the O2 Arena in London until after WWE’s event at that venue.
In this case, however, WWE made an exception for TNA. The Observer’s Dave Meltzer notes that this is another strong indicator that the partnership between the two companies extends far beyond what’s being shown on television.
The collaboration has been increasingly visible on WWE programming in recent months. TNA World Champion Trick Williams, who is under WWE contract, appeared on NXT and was confronted and laid out by The Undertaker. Additionally, Jacy Jayne—also featured on RAW recently as part of the crossover—continues to represent the TNA Knockouts division. TNA authority figure Santino Marella is also scheduled to challenge Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship on next week’s episode of NXT, marking yet another high-profile crossover appearance.
These developments follow months of speculation and evidence of growing cooperation, which began with Jordynne Grace’s surprise Royal Rumble appearance and continued with her match at NXT Battleground. While no formal merger has been announced, it’s clear that WWE sees strategic value in keeping TNA close, both for content and for talent development.
This latest behind-the-scenes move—waiving contractual control over venue promotion—is yet another sign that the WWE–TNA partnership is not just a temporary storyline angle, but a long-term business strategy that could reshape the way wrestling promotions operate together moving forward.
