WWE Reportedly Showing Interest in Danhausen and Private Party Amid Expiring AEW Contracts

WWE Reportedly Showing Interest in Danhausen and Private Party – Several AEW contracts are nearing expiration, and WWE is reportedly keeping a close eye on some of the names set to become free agents in the coming months.

According to a new report from @WrestleMobs, WWE has expressed strong interest in Danhausen and the tag team Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen). All three performers are believed to have contracts set to expire soon, and sources indicate that “movement could happen sooner rather than later.” This follows up on a recent report by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, who noted that Danhausen’s deal is expected to end in July and confirmed WWE’s early interest in Private Party.

While not officially confirmed by AEW or the talent themselves, speculation has picked up due to limited recent television time for these names, suggesting that discussions behind the scenes may already be underway.

The report also highlights that Chris Jericho’s contract is set to run through the end of 2025. Jericho has remained a prominent figure on AEW television and behind the scenes since the company’s inception.

In addition, Renee Paquette—who serves both as an on-screen personality and backstage producer—has a contract that will expire in August. Her dual role makes her a valuable asset, and it’s currently unknown whether AEW plans to extend her deal. Similarly, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker of 2.0 are also signed through August.

Despite ongoing rumors online, the report clarifies that Jon Moxley’s status remains unchanged. His deal is locked in through 2027, with no indication of any shift internally regarding his role or interest in departing AEW.

As AEW enters a key stretch in 2025, with its largest domestic event (All In: Texas) around the corner, the company’s ability to maintain its midcard depth and roster stability will be closely watched—especially as WWE positions itself to potentially swoop in on any outgoing talent.
