Tony Khan Declares AEW Stronger Than Ever – AEW President Tony Khan says the promotion is experiencing its strongest run to date, pointing to 2025 as a year of major growth and sustained momentum. Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Khan addressed fan and industry chatter that AEW has “restored the feeling,” but insisted that the company’s current output has surpassed anything they’ve done before.
“I actually think it’s better than it’s ever been,” Khan said, crediting the success not only to standout pay-per-view events like Double or Nothing, but also to consistent performance dating back to early 2025. “I do think this goes back to even January-ish,” he added, highlighting the Grand Slam Australia event in February and Revolution in March as foundational moments in AEW’s strong start to the year.
Khan pointed to two major changes that have fueled AEW’s upward trajectory: the launch of AEW Collision on Saturday nights and the full simulcast of both Dynamite and Collision on the Max streaming platform. According to Khan, AEW is no longer the company that needed to “restore” anything.
“That’s why we haven’t used that expression ‘restore the feeling’ in a long time,” he explained. “We’re doing something new now and giving the fans something new with Wednesday night Dynamite, Saturday night Collision, and all of it being simulcast and available to a wider audience.”
He also addressed a surprising boost in traditional viewership. “Looking just to the cable audience, the cable audience has grown too — against all expectations. So that’s been really great.”
Khan emphasized that AEW is no longer defined by its early years, when the company had just two hours of weekly programming. Now, he says, the company has doubled its output while maintaining — and even improving — its quality.
AEW’s next major milestone is All In: Texas, scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Billed as the company’s largest domestic event to date, the show is expected to further showcase AEW’s 2025 momentum.
