Tony Schiavone Shares Update on Harley Cameron – AEW announcer Tony Schiavone has provided a personal update on Harley Cameron following her recent injury. Speaking on the What Happened When podcast, Schiavone confirmed that Cameron suffered a significant facial injury, specifically a broken nose, and has undergone medical procedures to address the damage.
The injury occurred during the May 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, when Megan Bayne dropped Cameron face-first onto steel steps in a brutal spot during a No Disqualification tag team match. The incident was part of the storyline but resulted in real injury. Cameron later confirmed the damage on her social media accounts and shared post-surgery updates.
Schiavone, who has a close friendship with Cameron, spoke candidly about the aftermath. “She sent me a picture, and it’s… she’s suffered quite… she’s had a lot of work done, and her face was all swollen,” he said. While noting the graphic nature of the photo, Schiavone emphasized Cameron’s toughness and positive attitude.
“I’ve stayed in touch with her, because, as you know… she is just a wonderful young lady, truly one of my favorites,” Schiavone continued. “There’s a lot to like about Harley, and I hope she gets back very, very soon. She’s multi-talented. She’s got a great attitude.”
He also commented on the physicality of women’s wrestling today, stating, “I’m telling you, women’s wrestling can be really rough,” underscoring how far the in-ring style has evolved and intensified.
At this time, AEW has not provided an official timetable for Harley Cameron’s return. In her absence, her former tag team partner Anna Jay has resumed teaming with Tay Melo, marking a temporary shift in the women’s tag division landscape.
