Britt Baker Reportedly Seeking AEW Exit – Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker has been absent from television since November 2024, and a recent social media post has reignited speculation regarding her future with All Elite Wrestling. While AEW has offered no official update, Baker’s cryptic Instagram story has stirred discussion across the wrestling world.
The post, quoting Kobi Simmons, read:
A bottle of water can be $1 at a supermarket, $3 at the gym, $5 at the movies, $6 on a plane… Same water. The only thing that changed its value was the place. So next time you feel your worth is nothing, maybe you’re at the wrong place.
Many fans interpreted the quote as an indirect reference to Baker’s current status in AEW, and whether she sees herself as undervalued. While the quote alone could be taken as a general motivational statement, a new report from BodySlam.net suggests there’s much more to the story.
According to @WrestleMobs, Baker is actively looking to part ways with AEW. The report cites sources who claim she feels “there is nothing left for her” in the company and points to “burned bridges and a sense that the environment has changed around her” as contributing factors. Despite this, AEW reportedly has no current plans to release her from her contract.
Adding to the tension is a reported backstage altercation between Baker and AEW World Champion MJF in late 2024. The situation allegedly began after Baker was overheard criticizing the amount of TV time given to an MJF vs. Will Ospreay match. MJF’s girlfriend, Alicia Atout, reportedly passed along the remarks, which led to a heated confrontation and a subsequent suspension for Baker.
Compounding the issue, sources indicate that AEW President Tony Khan has been increasingly frustrated with Baker, further explaining her ongoing absence. While injury could also be a factor, the backstage issues appear to be central to the situation.
Despite speculation about a possible move to WWE, sources close to @ViperReports state that Baker’s name has not come up in internal discussions within WWE. This may be due to uncertainty about her contractual status and availability.
For now, Britt Baker remains under AEW contract with no official word on her return or future direction. The situation remains fluid, but it’s clear that one of AEW’s former top stars may be at a crossroads in her career.
