AEW Dynamite 300 Preview – AEW Dynamite 300 is set to be a milestone episode with a stacked card that features marquee names, championship implications, and a special “Heroes vs. Villains” theme inspired by the upcoming Superman film.
One of the night’s headline matches will see Kota Ibushi take on Kazuchika Okada in singles action. This highly anticipated bout comes just one week after Ibushi returned to AEW and defeated Trent Beretta in his first match in over a year. Following the match, Ibushi was confronted by Continental Champion Okada, reigniting their long-standing rivalry. The two last squared off in the 2021 G1 Climax final, a match that ended in a referee stoppage after Ibushi suffered a shoulder injury. With Okada slated to face Kenny Omega at All In: Texas, defeating Ibushi—one of Omega’s closest allies—would send a strong message ahead of that showdown.
MJF will also be in action, hoping to qualify for the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In as he seeks to regain the AEW World Championship. On Dynamite 300, he’ll compete in a four-way qualifying bout against Brody King, AR Fox, and Anthony Bowens. Mark Briscoe has already qualified for the match, and MJF aims to join him in the growing field of contenders.
Another major bout announced will see TBS Champion Mercedes Moné defend her title against Mina Shirakawa. Moné defeated Shirakawa earlier this year to win the Undisputed British Women’s Championship, and Shirakawa is now seeking retribution. With Toni Storm watching closely ahead of her own match with Moné at All In, this title defense could have significant implications.
The event will also feature two “Heroes vs. Villains” tag matches presented in collaboration with Warner Bros.’ promotion of the Superman movie. The first will see Konosuke Takeshita team with The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) to face Bandido, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly. The second pits AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay against The Beast Mortos and Dralístico.
