Sami Zayn Written Off WWE TV After Vicious Attack from Karrion Kross – Sami Zayn’s scheduled match against Bron Breakker on the July 7 episode of WWE RAW took a violent turn before it could even begin. As Zayn made his way to the ring, he was blindsided by Karrion Kross, who struck him from behind with a steel pipe. Just as Kross prepared to strike again, WWE official Adam Pearce intervened and confiscated the weapon, calling for immediate medical assistance.
Despite being visibly injured, Zayn insisted on continuing with the match. Pearce urged him to withdraw and let the medical team examine him, but Sami stubbornly pushed past officials, even humorously “diagnosing” himself fit to compete. Against Pearce’s wishes, he reentered the ring.
Unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Bron Breakker easily dominated the match, quickly putting away the already-weakened Zayn in a squash.
Later in the night, Kross was interviewed by Jackie Redmond, who replayed footage of the earlier attack. Kross laughed off the situation, calling it great footage, while the crowd erupted in chants of “We want Kross.” He then issued a chilling warning to Zayn:
“Every single week you come out, I’m going to come out too. I’ll blast your guts with a steel rod. You think I’m going away after Saudi Arabia? Until you admit Kross told the truth, this is going to happen week after week. I’m the devil you know… and you? You’re the devil they don’t. Your move.”
The situation escalated further when Paul Heyman appeared on commentary and revealed that Sami Zayn is now out of action indefinitely due to the combined damage from Kross’s assault and the beating from Bron Breakker.
The storyline appears to be writing Zayn off television, at least temporarily, while building Karrion Kross as an unrelenting force targeting the Intercontinental Champion. Whether Zayn will return to seek retribution or if another superstar will step into the fray remains to be seen.
