WWE Files Trademark for "The Vision," Sparks Faction Name Speculation

WWE Files Trademark for “The Vision,” Sparks Faction Name Speculation – WWE has filed a new trademark that could hint at the direction of one of its emerging storylines.

According to a filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, WWE submitted paperwork to trademark the term “The Vision” on Saturday, August 2. The trademark was filed for use in connection with professional wrestling and entertainment services. Lauren A. Dienes-Middlen was listed as the attorney of record for the company.

The filing outlines a wide range of intended uses for the trademark, including:

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

While WWE has yet to confirm what “The Vision” will be used for, speculation online suggests it could be the name of the new faction consisting of Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, which began forming in recent months. Rollins returned to TV at SummerSlam Night One to cash in Money in the Bank and is expected to be aligned with Heyman going forward. The group’s official name, however, has not been announced on WWE programming.

This filing follows a string of other recent trademark activity by WWE. Notably, WWE filed for “Superbrawl” on July 22, “The Oracle” (Heyman’s nickname) on July 26, and “WWE Late Night” on June 20. Additional trademarks filed this year include “Blake Monroe” (June 10), “Secret Her-vice” for Chelsea Green’s team with Alba Fyre and Piper Niven (May 19), “King of the Luchadores” (May 18), and “The High Ryze” (May 12).

At this point, it remains unclear whether “The Vision” will be the name of a group, a character, or an upcoming show. However, the timing of the filing has led to increased speculation that it’s tied to WWE’s creative direction post-SummerSlam.
