Backstage News and Notes from AEW All In: Texas

Backstage News and Notes from AEW All In: Texas – Several backstage updates have surfaced following AEW’s All In: Texas pay-per-view on Saturday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The show delivered major storyline developments and championship shakeups, and now additional context has been revealed on what went down behind the scenes.

Here are key backstage notes from the event:

Samoa Joe’s stretcher angle following his Trios Championship match was strictly part of the storyline. Despite the visual intensity of Claudio Castagnoli’s post-match attack, there is no legitimate injury involved.

Hangman Adam Page had family in attendance for the event, which added a personal layer to his emotional AEW World Championship victory over Jon Moxley in the Texas Death Match main event.

Toni Storm retaining the AEW Women’s World Championship over Mercedes Moné was a decision made well in advance. AEW reportedly had long-term creative mapped out for Storm’s continued reign under her “Timeless” persona.

– The tag match between Will Ospreay & Swerve Strickland and The Young Bucks was creatively outlined as early as AEW Double or Nothing. Interestingly, at one stage, Hangman Page was considered to take Ospreay’s spot depending on how All In plans evolved. In an amusing twist, despite the storyline not granting EVP status to the winners, both Ospreay and Strickland are now listed as AEW EVPs on the official roster page, while The Young Bucks have been removed from the EVP section following their loss.

MJF was always the planned winner of the Casino Gauntlet match. His victory secures him a future AEW World Title shot, continuing his quest to reclaim the championship he lost to Samoa Joe at Worlds End 2024.

Dustin Rhodes’ TNT Championship victory was reportedly booked on short notice. Despite being a late creative decision, the win marked an emotional moment in Rhodes’ career and gave him his first AEW singles title.

Adam Cole’s on-air announcement that he was stepping away due to health concerns struck a chord backstage. Sources described the scene as emotional, with many staff and wrestlers visibly moved. Cole is said to be extremely respected and loved across the wrestling industry, and his heartfelt promo left a strong impression both on-screen and off.

With AEW continuing to push major storyline shifts and elevate new talent, All In: Texas served as both a culmination of long-term builds and a launching point for fresh directions heading into the second half of 2025.
