Adam Cole Reveals Ongoing Health Issues, Says He’ll Be “Gone A While”

Adam Cole Reveals Ongoing Health Issues, Says He’ll Be “Gone A While” – Adam Cole made an emotional appearance at AEW All In: Texas despite being pulled from competition due to ongoing health issues. Originally scheduled to defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher, Cole instead came to the ring to formally vacate the title and speak directly to the fans.

Cole told the crowd at Globe Life Field that he is not medically cleared and will be stepping away from wrestling “for a while.” He didn’t go into specific medical details but acknowledged the severity of his condition, adding that he didn’t want to think about retirement just yet. As he spoke, he grew visibly emotional, especially when referencing the idea of possibly never returning to the ring.

“I don’t want to think about retirement, because you are the best fans in the world,” Cole told the crowd, who responded with a resounding chant of “Thank you, Adam.”

Cole continued, thanking the fans for supporting him throughout all the highs and lows of his career. “I will love you forever,” he said. He credited AEW’s audience for changing his life and making everything he’s done worthwhile.

The moment was capped off with Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly joining Cole in the ring. The three embraced before Cole delivered one last “Adam Cole Bay Bay” taunt to a thunderous response.

AEW had announced during the Zero Hour pre-show that Cole would not be able to compete, leading to the TNT Championship being vacated. A new champion will be crowned in a four-way match later tonight featuring Kyle Fletcher, Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, and Dustin Rhodes.

While no timeline has been provided for Cole’s return, his heartfelt farewell clearly struck a chord with fans and talent alike. His status will remain a major talking point in the coming weeks as the AEW roster adjusts to the sudden absence of one of its cornerstone figures.
