Dustin Rhodes Captures TNT Championship – Dustin Rhodes made history at AEW All In: Texas by winning his first-ever singles title in All Elite Wrestling. In a high-stakes four-way match for the vacant AEW TNT Championship, Rhodes outlasted Kyle Fletcher, Daniel Garcia, and Sammy Guevara to claim the gold in front of a packed house at Globe Life Field.
The finish came when Dustin countered Daniel Garcia’s offense into a perfectly timed small package pin. Guevara dove in to break it up but was just a second too late. With that, Dustin scored the fall and was crowned the new TNT Champion. The emotional moment saw Rhodes celebrate with his nephews Wyatt Rhodes and Wayne Rhodes, as well as The Von Erichs (Ross and Marshall) and even Guevara, despite being one of his opponents in the match.
This marks Dustin Rhodes’ first reign as TNT Champion and his first singles title in AEW, a notable milestone in a career that has spanned over three decades. Despite being one of AEW’s founding veterans, Dustin had not yet captured a championship in the promotion until tonight’s win.
The title was made vacant earlier in the evening after Adam Cole was ruled medically unable to compete. Originally scheduled to defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher, Cole addressed the crowd in an emotional segment on the Zero Hour pre-show. He confirmed he was stepping away “for a while” due to health concerns and officially relinquished the title.
As a result, Tony Khan announced that the championship would be decided in a four-way match. Fletcher, Garcia, Guevara, and Rhodes were inserted into the bout, making it one of the most unpredictable contests of the night.
Earlier in the night, Rhodes and Guevara also teamed with The Von Erichs in a traditional Texas showcase during the pre-show. That match saw them defeat Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty, Shawn Dean, and Carlie Bravo), giving both men early momentum heading into their title opportunity.
Dustin’s TNT Title win serves as a defining moment in his AEW tenure and adds yet another chapter to his legendary legacy in professional wrestling.
