WWE Confirms Survivor Series 2025 Will Feature WarGames Theme Once Again – WWE has officially confirmed that Survivor Series 2025 will once again be headlined by the WarGames format. For the fourth consecutive year, the chaotic double-ring steel cage matches will serve as the centerpiece of one of WWE’s biggest annual premium live events.
This year’s Survivor Series: WarGames will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, during Thanksgiving weekend, and for the first time in history, it will be held at an outdoor venue — Petco Park in San Diego, California. The stadium, home to MLB’s San Diego Padres, has a listed capacity of 39,860 before adjusting for WWE’s stage setup. WWE is also teaming up with the San Diego Tourism Marketing District to help bring the event to life.
The company has released a promotional poster to hype the show, which prominently features Roman Reigns, signaling his return to WWE programming after months of absence following the fallout from WrestleMania 41. Reigns is expected to resume his role in the build-up to SummerSlam, but he could have more time off after the event, as he’s slated to begin filming a role in the upcoming Street Fighter movie in Australia this August.
Other top names advertised on the poster include Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, 2025 King of the Ring winner Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, Rey Mysterio, Seth Rollins, United States Champion Jacob Fatu, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Naomi, Jey Uso, and Penta.
Ticket access for Survivor Series: WarGames will begin with a pre-sale at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday, July 9. General public sales will start on Thursday, July 11. WWE has not yet announced which Superstars will participate in the men’s and women’s WarGames matches, but given current storylines and tensions across both brands, the field is expected to be stacked with top talent.
With Survivor Series returning to its WarGames format and taking place in a unique open-air stadium for the first time, WWE is setting the stage for one of the most distinctive and high-stakes events of the year. Fans can expect more announcements and storyline developments as November draws near.
