Velveteen Dream Demands Apology and WWE Return – Patrick Clark, formerly known as Velveteen Dream in WWE, has resurfaced on social media with a forceful message aimed at critics and WWE management. In a series of Instagram stories, Clark addressed past accusations and made a direct appeal for a second chance in the wrestling industry.
The former NXT North American Champion referenced recent news surrounding former WWE talent Mike Droese’s legal troubles as the backdrop for his statement. Clark wrote, “People guilty of child crimes don’t get to walk around free.” He followed up by demanding public acknowledgment for his own situation, adding, “A LOT OF YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY FOR DRAGGING ME THROUGH THE MUD. FIVE YEARS LATER HERE I STAND STILL FREE AND WITHOUT A SINGLE CHARGE… IT’S VERY HARD FOR PEOPLE TO ADMIT WHEN THEY WERE WRONG AND MALICIOUS.”
Clark was released by WWE in 2021 after allegations emerged in 2020 that he had engaged in inappropriate communications with minors. He denied the allegations at the time, stating that he never behaved inappropriately and claimed a private photo had been distributed without his consent. WWE launched an internal investigation into the matter. Triple H later stated that the company “didn’t find anything,” though at least one accuser alleged they were never contacted during that process.
In addition to the accusations, Clark was reportedly the subject of backstage controversy in NXT, including allegations of poor behavior, filming fellow wrestlers in private spaces, wellness policy violations, and being reckless during matches.
Despite his release and the surrounding controversies, Clark is now encouraging fans to campaign for his WWE return. He wrote, “IF YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME, THE BOSSES (Triple H/HBK) PAY ATTENTION TO SOCIAL MEDIA… #WeWantTheDREAM AND SPAM @TripleH @WWE. THEY WILL HEAR YOU! WE CAN MAKE ENOUGH NOISE TO DROWN OUT THE LIES AND THE HATE.”
Since his departure from WWE, Clark has made only a few appearances on the independent wrestling circuit.
As of now, there has been no public response from WWE regarding his latest statements or any potential interest in bringing him back.
