Earlier this month, Black, along with Miro and Ricky Starks, departed AEW. Since then, Starks has resurfaced in NXT under the name Ricky Saints, while reports indicate that WWE creative has been discussing plans for both Black and Miro.
Speculation surrounding Black’s return has intensified after he posted a fan-made highlights video on his Instagram stories. While he did not reference WWE or hint at future plans, fans have interpreted the post as a signal that he may be on his way back.
Some believe Black could join The Judgment Day upon his return. On the January 20 episode of RAW, Chad Gable sought advice from Dominik Mysterio regarding his issues with luchador stars Penta El Zero Miedo, Dragon Lee, and Rey Mysterio. Mysterio handed Gable a piece of paper with a name on it, though its contents were never revealed, fueling further speculation.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Aleister Black should be returning imminently,” though no further details were provided.
With WWE reportedly making moves to bring back former talent, it remains to be seen how Black will be reintroduced and whether he will align with an existing faction or forge his own path upon his return.
