WWE Reportedly Planning for Malakai Black & Miro’s Return – AEW has lost three notable talents, as Malakai Black, Miro, and Ricky Starks have officially parted ways with the promotion. While Starks has already resurfaced in WWE NXT, Black and Miro are reportedly on their way back to WWE.
Miro, who initially joined AEW in 2020, was one of the company’s highest-paid stars, signing a multi-million dollar contract that was later extended for four more years. Despite his potential, he was rarely featured in major storylines, leading to speculation about his future. Meanwhile, Malakai Black, a key member of the House of Black faction, had also been absent from AEW television for an extended period, fueling rumors of his departure.
Wade Keller of PWTorch previously reported that WWE officials see significant value in Black, believing he has the potential to be a top-tier singles competitor. Black reportedly feels more at ease with Paul “Triple H” Levesque leading WWE’s creative direction, as opposed to when Vince McMahon was in charge. Additionally, he never formed a strong working relationship with AEW President Tony Khan, which may have contributed to his decision to leave.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reinforced these reports, stating that WWE creative teams have already been discussing ideas for Black and Miro. There is also speculation that CJ Perry (formerly Lana) could reunite with Miro, though nothing has been confirmed.
“The belief is that Black and Miro will also be in WWE very soon. It wouldn’t surprise me to see CJ Perry back involved with him but that’s less of a definite. Those in WWE had said creative had been talking about Black and Miro.”
With their AEW exits finalized, it appears only a matter of time before Black and Miro return to WWE.
