Shawn Michaels and Triple H Deliver NXT State of The Union – In a humorous nod to their iconic D-Generation X days, Shawn Michaels and Triple H delivered an NXT State of the Union parody, poking fun at the move to The CW Network. The video played on their past rebellious personas but was reimagined for the present as the two wrestling legends read a set of “standards and practices” that NXT would adhere to on its new platform.
Shawn Michaels: Good evening, my fellow Americans. We’ve been informed that the CW is proud to present NXT on Tuesday nights as it embarks on a new chapter in its storied history. As we move forward towards the future, we need to ensure that we see eye-to-eye with our key demographic. We only do so when we know the one way to do it. For us, that’s gratuitously. This time, we can’t get in trouble because, strangely enough, we make the rules. Therefore, the following are the standards and practices that we promise to adhere to.
Triple H: From the hours of eight to ten p.m., we will only use the words gyat, flex, slay, and bussin’. We will, however, also make a considered effort to use the words suss, drip, low-key, on god, ratio.
SM: Get you some of that.
Triple H: Any other topical lingo or trending audio. Now as it pertains to video, we promise there will be more skibidi-[gibberish].
SM: Yup, and that is so cringe, brother. We’re not in Ohio, we’re in Chicago. You just can’t pass the vibe check. You are so washed.
Triple H: I’m not washed, you’re washed.
SM: Anyway, there will be more rap references. But on a final note, even though many of you believe that currently the favorite pastime in the Oval Office is to get in the kitchen and cook, let me just say, I happen to be a vegan.
Triple H: Brother, you ate.
SM: Make sure to catch all the action on NXT Tuesday night at 8 p.m. only on the CW.
Triple H then shared the video and wrote that he thought they ate, no crumbs.
Triple H and Shawn Michaels appeared on the October 1st episode of NXT to celebrate the beginning of the new era.
